Teacher Spotlight

Mrs. Deborah Tuck
October 2013

Deborah McAden Tuck, (BA, Class of 1970) was one of Brunswick Academy’s first students.  She started BA the first year it opened as a 7th grade student.  She graduated in 1970 and went on to Longwood College.  She completed Longwood in three years and graduated with a BS Degree in 1973.  She returned to Brunswick Academy and  began her teaching career teaching business subjects in the High School until she married and moved to South Hill.

She taught at South Hill Academy for 9 years and returned to Brunswick Academy in 1985 teaching 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  She is currently teaching and enjoying 5th grade.

She is married to Herbert Tuck and they reside in South Hill.  They have two daughters, Courtney Randolph (BA 2000) and Karie (BA 2003).  She has been teaching for 40 years. 

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, relaxing at the lake or Nags Head, and spoiling her grandson, Bo.

When told about Teacher Spotlight she stated “I am truly honored to be chosen for the Teacher Spotlight.  Brunswick Academy has played a huge, wonderful role in my life and I am proud to be a part of the BA family.  GO BA!”
