Brunswick Academy is pleased to announce that Jamie Lauren Saunders has been chosen the February 2019 Student of the Month. Jamie, a senior, is the daughter of Jeff and Joy Saunders of Valentines.
Jamie is a member of the National Honor Society, (Sergeant At Arms), Brunswick Academy Spanish Club and has been the Class of 2019 Class Treasurer for 7 years and is Class Fundraising Chair. She is currently the Co-Editor of the Yearbook, a member of the Scholastic Bowl Team, MGA and was the Varsity Football Manager.
Jamie has played basketball at Brunswick Academy for 7 years. In those years, she has received numerous awards and has achieved great milestones. She has been chosen Most Improved Player, Most Valuable Player (2), First Team All-Conference (3), Second Team All-Conference, First Team All-State, and All Tournament State Team (2) and scored her 1000th point during the 2018-2019 basketball season.
Jamie has also played volleyball for 4 years, cross country for 3 years and Girls Softball for 7 years. During softball she has won the Coaches Award, Second Team-All Conference, Second Team All State, First Team All-Conference and first Team All State.
In her spare time, Jamie is President of the Lawrenceville United Methodist Church Youth Group and enjoys spending time at her favorite place, Topsail Island Beach.
Jamie will continue her basketball career next year at Mary Baldwin University. Congratulations Jamie!
