Brunswick Academy’s grades 3-5 provides a challenging learning environment in which students are given opportunities to explore their interests and expand their academic abilities. Each student is encouraged to think creatively, learn to express themselves and to work cooperatively with each other.
Grade 3 is taught by an individual teacher which affords a close working relationship between the teacher and students. Grades 4 and 5 transition to separate teachers for subjects which allows for more concentrated study while preparing the students for middle and high school learning. All teachers are focused on providing a positive learning environment by using a strong balance of traditional teaching methods coupled with new technology. Students strive to work to their potential, developing their cognitive abilities while questioning the world around them. This challenges students to grow cognitively as they are developing physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The Grades 3-5 curriculum explores all subject areas with a concentration in reading, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Multi-subject units of study are designed to help each student reach their highest potential.
