Congratulations to Amanda Rose O’Berry for being named Underclassman Student of the Month for January!

Amanda, a junior at Brunswick Academy, is the daughter of Greg and Sharon O’Berry of Emporia, Virginia. Amanda has a brother, Hunter, who is currently an 8th grader at Brunswick Academy. Amanda also has two older sisters and an older brother. Amanda challenges herself daily by taking Honors Classes. She is currently the Vice President of the Forensics club, a member of the Art club, Treasurer of SCO and has been a representative for two years, was class treasurer for two years, and has attended the Modern General Assembly. Amanda has enjoyed serving as a teacher’s aide the past two years.

When Amanda is not busy with her academics, you can find her baking, dancing, fishing or babysitting. Amanda has danced since she was three years old. She works at the YMCA of Emporia-Greensville with school aged children. Having a passion for Christ, Amanda is very active in her church as well as the Operation Christmas Child ministry. Amanda volunteers yearly at the OCC Processing center in Charlotte, NC and takes pride in being a co-project leader at Calvary Chapel Branchville. Amanda spent a couple of years involved with the Greensville/Emporia 4-H Shooting Sports Club, serving as both President and Treasurer.

After high school, Amanda plans to go to Southside Virginia Community College and obtain her Associates degree and then transfer to Longwood or Liberty University to complete her degree in elementary education. Amanda dreams of one day owning a daycare/preschool at the beach!
